Selecting the Right Sidewall for your Space

Sidewall Options made Simple

Canopy sidewalls, also known as infill panels, provide protection from the elements, making the space in some cases more usable throughout the year. Fitted to one or multiple sides, they help create a more sheltered and defined environment.

Selecting your Sidewall

Clovis offer three sidewall options, each designed to suit different requirements: polycarbonate panels, available in solid or multiwall formats; fabric panels, including PVC and tensile infill; and glass, for a more premium, high-clarity finish.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate side panels are rigid plastic panels, typically 5mm–16mm thick, designed to create durable and low-maintenance canopy enclosures. Well suited to schools, playgrounds, walkways, healthcare settings, and other high-use or more exposed environments, they offer a strong and practical solution.

Key benefits include:-

  • Excellent impact resistance
  • High light transmission
  • Strong UV protection
  • Available in clear panels for a glass-like appearance
  • Opal finishes available where additional privacy is required.

Fabric (PVC)

Fabric side panels are flexible enclosures made from PVC-coated polyester, ideally suited to tensile fabric canopies as well as sports, education, and event spaces where adaptability is important.

  • Is a cost-effective solution whilst still providing reliable protection from the elements
  • Is practical option for a range of applications.

Considerations

  • Generally less durable than rigid systems over the longer term
  • Offers lower levels of security compared to more robust materials.

“Our role is to guide clients towards the right solution for their space and budget, ensuring there are no unexpected costs and complete confidence in the investment being made”.

Glass side panels are rigid enclosures made from toughened glass, designed to integrate seamlessly into a canopy structure.

  • Maximises natural light, creating a bright and open feel
  • Provides effective protection from the elements
  • Delivers a high-quality, modern finish that enhances overall appearance
  • Glass side panels can be incorporated into canopy designs.

Considerations

  • Will typically increases overall project cost compared to alternative materials.
